Dr. Saraf A. Kalpalayam is the Founder of Dr. SAK Tax Consultants and formerly served as the Senior-most Additional Commissioner (Audit) in the Kerala State GST Department and as Registrar of the Gulati Institute of Finance and Taxation (GIFT), Government of Kerala.

As Chairman of the Audit Monitoring Committee, he made history by implementing the GST Audit vertical for the first time in India — overseeing 17,910 Draft Audit Reports, detecting tax discrepancies of ₹1,173.09 Crores, and generating voluntary payments of ₹181.65 Crores.

He is also the author of GST Version 2.0, published by DC Books and released by Hon'ble Mr. Justice N. Nagaresh, Judge, High Court of Kerala — cementing his standing as both a seasoned administrator and a leading voice in GST scholarship.
